Banks get a value-added offering for existing clients, a technology solution to push their DAF offering to a wider customer base, and a tool to make a labour intensive process more efficient.

Cor Hoekstra

Chief Executive Officer

Cor is a 30-year veteran in the technology development, sales and consulting space. He was a Partner with IBM Global Business Consulting Services where he led Enterprise transformation engagements for IBM clients in the retail, travel and transport, life sciences, and consumer products sectors. He has held senior development, sales and consulting positions with Oracle, One Network Solutions, i2 Technologies and Intertrans Logistics Solutions (ITLS).

Walt Ruloff

Strategic Partnerships

Walt has launched and financed a number of technology companies over his 30-year career, including eCash (founded in 1999 and sold in 2002); One CornerStone Technologies and Venterra Properties, utilizing advanced systems to manage large property holdings (founded in 2002); and Premise Media (producer and distributor of documentary films, 2006). He built Intertrans Logistics Solutions (ITLS) into a global leader in the field of automated Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems in the late 1990s. In 1998, he sold ITLS to i2 Technologies (i2 Technologies subsequently sold to JDA Software).

Paul Welsh

Paul is a 25-year communications and public relations veteran. He grew his boutique public relations firm from four to 60 people, selling in 2007 to Edelman, the world’s largest public relations firm. Following the closure of the deal with Edelman in 2012, he served a strategy/consulting role as Chief Commercial Officer with Edelman Canada, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and business development for the firm in the region.

 Torbjorn Kanestrom a.k.a. “TK”

Chief Technology Officer

TK brings 25 years of entrepreneurial, technology, business development and marketing experience in the global software industry to Amicus. He founded Cxense.com in 2010, one of the first companies in the world to deliver ‘context’ and context-driven applications as a service, taking the company public in 2015. Prior to founding Cxense.com, TK ran business development for Asia and Latin America at Microsoft, a position created after FAST (a company he was instrumental in building) was acquired by Microsoft for $1.5B.

David Collins

NGO Engagement

David is 30-year veteran in the humanitarian and community relief sector, working in countries and with aid agencies around the world. He was the founder of the Canadian Arm of Food for the Hungry, an international aid organization, and served as CEO for 15 years. He has worked closely with donors and aid agencies, both in disaster response efforts and development aid projects in countries including Rwanda, Uganda, Afghanistan and the Philippines.

Dag Syrrist

Finance

Dag brings 30 years of venture capital investing in the US and Europe to Amicus. In addition to his consulting work with Amicus, he serves as Managing General Partner of Vision Capital, a $175M Trans-Atlantic venture fund with offices in Burlingame, California and Geneva, Switzerland that funds leading European technology companies expanding into the US. He is co-founder of the Global Business Sustainability Network, a private group of 15 non-competing F100 companies that designs and launches companies with commercial solutions addressing the needs of GBSN members. Prior to joining Vision Capital in 1997, he served as Vice President at Technology Funding, a $350M venture capital fund located in San Mateo, California.

Beth specializes in bringing new products and services to market. She has created product strategy and run product teams for Fortune 500 digital consumer companies including McAfee (now Intel Security) and AVG (now Avast!). Beth’s products in market reach over 100 million users and have generated over 500 million dollars in revenue world wide.

Nancy Heller

Nancy Freund Heller is a senior executive with a distinguished thirty-year career in financial services, managing investments, creating strategic plans, running new and established businesses, serving on boards and committees. Most recently, Nancy built and served as President of TIAA Charitable. Nancy also created TIAA Direct, an online retail bank, headed TIAA’s Institutional Relationships business, conceived and created TIAA’s third party asset management business and spent decades managing investments for TIAA’s general account.

Ms. Heller currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Manhattan School of Music and the Investment Advisory Board of Geller & Company Family Offices.

Patti Schom-Moffatt

Patti Schom-Moffatt is lifelong entrepreneur and distinguished strategic counsellor in the fields of communications and reputation management. She founded and ran her own strategic communications company for 25 years in Vancouver, Canada, eventually selling that firm to Edelman in 2007. She served as Chief Client Officer with Edelman before setting up her own consultancy, PSM Ventures, in 2015. She has advised business, political and community leaders on a variety of contentious issues. She is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors, and currently serves on the Board of Providence Health Care in Vancouver, Canada.

Ephy Torenberg

Ephy is a 20-year veteran in Software company management, technology development, building products and services. He was a CEO and Co-founder with Crown Philanthropic Solutions which created the DonorFirst platform, the first of its kind Donor Advised Fund Engagement software. For five years Ephy also led MicroEdge (now a subsidiary of Blackbaud) growing that company exponentially through the evolution of web technology. MicroEdge is the leading provider of Grants Management Software. Prior to his career in technology management and development, Ephy has held senior leadership positions in the Israeli Airforce and was an active air crew for many years. Ephy holds a BA degree in Computer Science, loves the outdoor and is a proud father of five.
